Northboro, MA, May 19, 2004 - IntraLearn Software Corporation,
the leading supplier of configurable e-Learning software applications to the mid-market,
announced today that P.T. Bank Mandiri, Indonesia’s largest bank in terms of assets,
loans and deposits, has awarded a multi-million dollar, three-year contract to IntraLearn
Asia and its partner, The Boston Group. The team will architect an enterprise learning
and training solution around the IntraLearn XE that will impact 17,500 employees
across 700 branches in Indonesia.
The Boston Group will also develop at least 250 hours of multi-media e-Learning
content to be delivered through IntraLearn. “The Boston Group is delighted to be
a part of this very bold and pioneering initiative undertaken by Bank Mandiri,”
said Kashif Rana, vice president of The Boston Group. “The blended learning approach
being adopted will positively impact employee skills and competencies.”
To deliver this large e-Learning project for Bank Mandiri, IntraLearn Asia has partnered
with P.T. Mitra Integrasi Komputindo (MIK), which is a leading IT integration and
consulting services firm based in Jakarta.
Bank Mandiri is a product of the merger of four state-owned banks that took place
in October 1998, in the aftermath of the financial crisis of 1997-1998. After a
$23 million dollar investment in new technology, Bank Mandiri has combined nine
different technology platforms into one, creating a unified interface for customers
and increasing back-office efficiency. The e-Learning and training infrastructure
is the next step in its three-year, $200 million dollar program to upgrade its technology
platforms.
The bank intends to have two co-located installations hosted for them with fail-over
and load balancing. “The IntraLearn XE’s scalability and multi-language capabilities
combined with The Boston Group’s local hosting and system integration capabilities
made it a perfect fit for Bank Mandiri’s goals,” said Peter Banhazl, IntraLearn
Software Corporation’s executive vice president.
