Northboro, MA – June 4, 2003 - IntraLearn Software Corporation,
the leading supplier of configurable e-Learning software applications, announces
the immediate availability of the IntraLearn MeLS program, designed specifically
for e-Learning Application Service Providers. MeLS, which stands for Managed e-Learning
Services, is the culmination of three years of experience building products for
Learning Service Providers serving various markets. IntraLearn MeLS will enable
ASPs to offer advanced, field-proven e-Learning technologies to their customers
at a fraction of the cost of their current systems.
Since 1997, more than three million learners have taken online courses from the
IntraLearn platform. In 2000, the company introduced the IntraLearn LSP product
specifically for Learning Service Providers. IntraLearn’s community of LSP partners
now includes more than twenty companies providing e-Learning to two million learners
from 500 different companies.
“As a long-term Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, it became clear that the path
to continued scalability was the ability to expand from the standard Microsoft server
products to Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server and Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise
Edition,” explained David Werboff, IntraLearn Vice President for Product Management.
These technological advancements, together with modular enhancements developed for
IntraLearn partners, are now integrated into a single offering. In addition to scaling
up by adding servers, MeLS provides integrated provisioning, merchant account processing,
enhanced reporting, batch loading, enhanced exams, event management, a comprehensive
Applications Extension Pack for linking to external administrative systems, and
access to thousands of third-party courses from leading suppliers across major vertical
markets. Other IntraLearn products, such as IntraLearn Community, may be easily
added to the MeLS offering. Like all IntraLearn products, MeLS can be installed
right out of the box and deployed in a matter of days.
“Our partner-based distribution model has always highly influenced our technology
offerings,” said Jerry Goguen, IntraLearn President and CEO. He added, “ In the
current economic market, we believe it makes financial sense to bundle the components
of IntraLearn MeLS, lowering the barriers to entry for our partners to provide e-Learning
services to their customers.”
IntraLearn ASP-based learning services have been successfully deployed by key partners,
including Quick Compliance (Healthcare), Financial Campus (Finance and Insurance),
Advanced Systems Technology (Government), Certilearn (Associations), UMass Online
(Education), Insight U (Retail), and Polar Bear (IT training). These partners deliver
online learning from autonomous IntraLearn ports to clients like Verizon, the Mt.
Sinai Hospitals, secure government customers, Citigroup, NY Life, University of
Massachusetts, the International Franchise Association, and Staples Canada.
