Boston,Mass.May 8 , 2007 - In the opening General Session
of the eLearning Guild Meeting, IntraLearn Software Corporation was selected as
the LINGOs Partner of the Year for 2007. LINGOs (Learning for International Non-Governmental
Organizations) works to improve the performance and increase the effectiveness of
Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) worldwide. More than 750 million people receive
humanitarian relief and development assistance provided by LINGOs member agencies
throughout the world.
LINGOs member organizations are provided free access to their own port on the
IntraLearn Learning Management System (LMS) that enables them to host, develop,
track and implement learning content for their staff. Each member organization can
brand their port to reflect the identity of their organization and utilize the numerous
features of IntraLearn such as chat, threaded discussions, file sharing, and reports.
Eric Berg, Executive Director of LINGOs stated, "We have a number of partner
organizations that have been helpful at bringing the benefits of distance learning
to the humanitarian sector. However, IntraLearn Software has been instrumental in
providing our member organizations with the platform necessary to deliver timely,
relevant, and effective learning to their employees throughout the world. Organizations
like Habitat for Humanity, Save the Children, Care, Catholic Relief Services, World
Vision and many others have portals on the LINGOs LMS donated by IntraLearn Software
and can now leverage the power of eLearning to help them meet their global objectives."
In receiving the award, Jerry Goguen, CEO of Intralearn Software shared, "Improving
the opportunities for learning in the developing world was our motivation for working
with LINGOs. We are grateful that our software could make such a difference and
are looking forward to expanding the reach of the LINGOs network."
LINGOs, a consortium of humanitarian relief and development organizations, works
