IntraLearn and Connected Learning.Network Offer Microsoft Courseware Online for the First Time For Certified Technical Education Centers
Northboro, MA and Louisville, KY-- February 13, 2001 - IntraLearn Software Corporation, a leading supplier of configurable eLearning applications for the mid-size enterprise, and Connected Learning.Network, a premier provider of customized distance education courses for schools, colleges and corporations, today announced a strategic partnership. Under the alliance, the two companies will work together to provide official Microsoft eLearning Training Courses to Microsoft Certified Technical Education Centers (CTECs). They will offer CTECs a complete online solution, including LRN-compliant Microsoft content and an e-learning management system.

Microsoft recently made its official IT training courseware available for online delivery for the first time and selected IntraLearn as a Learning Service Provider (LSP). IntraLearn has selected Connected Learning.Network as a partner in providing a complete Microsoft eLearning training solution that Microsoft eLearning Partners can, in turn, offer their clients. This partnership marks the first time that Microsoft courses are being made available online to certify IT professionals.

The two companies will work together to offer online Microsoft content that can be used to prepare an individual for professional certification as a Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE), Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD), or Microsoft Office User Specialist (MOUS). IntraLearn and Connected Learning.Network will deliver these courses in the Learning Resource iNterchange (LRN) format, the first commercial implementation of the Instructional Management Systems (IMS) specification for courseware interoperability. In addition to the Microsoft courseware, CTECs will receive the IntraLearn eLearning management system, the industry’s only fully configurable online learning platform for midmarket enterprises. IntraLearn software enables learning service providers to rapidly create, deliver and measure standards-based interactive Microsoft training over the Internet and intranets.

"Connected Learning.Network is one of the leading full-service eLearning ASPs in the country. Our strategic alliances with them and Microsoft allow us to significantly expand our eLearning platform into new markets. Connected Learning.Network gives Microsoft's CTECs all of the support and resources they need, while we provide the courseware and management system for a complete and certified eLearning solution," said Peter Banhazl, Executive Vice President, IntraLearn Software Corporation.

"Since 1999, IntraLearn software has been the 'engine' in Connected Learning.Network's CLEGA (Connected Learning Electronic Graduate Assistant) System. Both companies have been working together to constantly 'fine-tune' that engine. This partnership will allow us to dramatically build on an already strong relationship to offer, for the first time anywhere, Microsoft certified IT courseware online. We will be able to expand together into new markets by offering Microsoft CTECs a complete answer to their eLearning challenges," stated John-Robert Curtin, Connected Learning.Network's CEO.
